Palm Tree Cemetary

For New Year's Eve we went to see Robert Earl Keen at The Gruene Dance Hall. You mean The Gruene Dance Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas? Yes! Exactly! Well, how was it?
Uh, s'okay. I didn't feel very rock-n-roll in my maternity clothes. Also, bars close at midnight in that town, so they announced that New Year's would be celebrated at 11:00 pm. New Years East Coast Style! Ahead of time, I bought it. "This'll be great!" Plus I was really hoping they would pass out dixie cups of champagne.
But it turns out that celebrating New Year's at 11:00 really does not fool anyone. Robert Earl Keen took a moment to count us down from ten and then went on to the next song, and the crowd did not rejoice with particular enthusiasm. And there was no champagne. I'd really been looking forward to my Dixie Cup of champagne. They owe me a thimble of champagne.
These are the last pictures from Galveston. These is the Palm Tree Cemetary we passed to and from our rental house.
They all got buried up to their necks. Poor palm trees. This doesn't appear to be very healthy for palm trees:
