School starts tomorrow, so there's that.

Meet my new best friend!
(Yes, this bean bag takes up the better part of the entire room.) But it's AMAZING. It's like suspended animation. I can sprawl spread-eagled. If I choose to roll over, I can just make an indentation for my belly. Then gravity will pull the belly away from my lungs and I can breathe like a bullfrog.
In high school once, I tore a bunch of ligaments in my ankle playing soccer. Then I didn't go to the doctor for two days. I kind of wrapped it in an Ace Bandage and took some crutches to school and wept and gnashed my teeth. (I remember almost crying thinking how far I had to travel to get to my next class.)
So eventually I went to the doctor and he gave me an air cast. I felt like I'd been saved and I thought to myself, "If I'm ever feeling lonely or sad, I should just put this air cast back on because it is the most deeply comforting thing I've ever experienced." That air cast has now been replaced by this bean bag. It's that good.
I would daresay that a bean bag is an essential item for a pregnant woman.
We facultied, we retreated.
The faculty retreat was held at a Lutheran summer camp. We slept in bunk beds and ate in a mess hall. The camp director greeted us at dinner time and led us in grace, which was to the tune of the Gilligan's Island song.
Thank you god for being here
At our meal with us (clap-clap)
Etc.
This years topic was "What brings you joy?" We talked about what we do for rejuvenation and how we get pleasure out of our families and how not to get bogged down by the little things. Last year the topic was "Finding your vocation". It's all a bit like the Unitarian Universalist Sunday school that I attended.
