I think your brothers reaction is pretty typical for men. I'm pretty sure my husband would do exactly the same. It doesn't make it any less infuriating.

Maybe you guys could all make arrangements to go to your mom's over Labor Day? I bet it would thrill her to pieces to have everyone under the same roof.
